FrED Control and DoE
Designed and implemented a PID-controlled temperature system to stabilize fiber extrusion output. Conducted a Design of Experiments (DoE) to model effects of parameters.

Project Overview
This project involved developing a precise control system for a Fiber Extrusion Device (FrED) to ensure consistent output quality. The system needed to maintain stable temperatures across various operating conditions.
Approach & Solution
I implemented a PID-controlled temperature system that could adapt to changing material properties and extrusion speeds. A comprehensive Design of Experiments (DoE) was conducted to understand the effects of temperature, material type, and extrusion speed on output diameter and quality.
Outcome & Results
The control system was able to maintain temperature stability within ±2°C across all operating conditions. An integrated real-time Statistical Process Control (SPC) dashboard was developed for process monitoring and predictive feedback, allowing operators to identify potential issues before they affected product quality.
Project Report
This report details the development and implementation of a PID control system for the Fiber Extrusion Device (FrED). It includes the Design of Experiments methodology, results, and the process control dashboard development.
